Position Overview
As a Menswear/Streetwear designer, you’ll be responsible for conceptualizing and designing a cutting-edge collection for menswear apparel. Your keen understanding of urban trends, strong understanding of garment construction, and ability to innovate will ensure our clients' collections stay relevant and ahead of the curve.
Roles And Responsibilities
• Conduct market research to identify current trends, fabrics, and techniques in the menswear industry, drawing design inspiration from various sources.
• Develop ideas for product innovation and re-engineering, keeping practicality and style at the forefront.
• Conceptualize and develop seasonal ranges that aligns with brand ethos and pricing strategies, ensuring timely execution.
• Collaborate seamlessly with product development, sourcing and tech teams to bring new ideas in fits, fabric innovation, prints, and trims.
• Prepare and present mood boards, color boards, fabric boards, silhouette boards for seasonal collections along with line sheets and design packs, ensuring all designs meet the brand's expectations.
• Participate in fit sessions, production approvals, and ensure that the final products meet design standards.
• Assist with GTM presentations by ensuring samples and accurate information are readily available.
• Stay up-to-date with catwalks/ upcoming brands via online, offline and social media resources to continuously keep the newness going in the design collections while delivering fast turnaround capsule ranges for fast fashion brands.
• Handle meetings independently with brands showcasing new collections as per their directions/requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
• 5-8 years of experience in apparel design while specialising in menswear/streetwear design for top global brands or labels, specializing in urban, casual, or contemporary streetwear.
• Degree in fashion or apparel design from prestigious institutions like NIFT, NID, or an equivalent.
• Strong expertise in garment construction, fabrics, and design, with a sharp eye for Menswear trends and silhouettes.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience with 3D design tools like CLO3D is a plus.
• Comprehensive knowledge of production processes, fabric sourcing, garment construction, and costing.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to work with cross-functional teams, including product development and sourcing.
