Warehouse Storeperson Gap Year (No Experience)

Your role:

A Gap Year in the Air Force gives you an exciting taste of life in the ADF with just one year’s commitment. You’ll get paid for meaningful work, receive full Air Force training, and enjoy memorable experiences – unlike anything you’d encounter in a regular gap year.

As a Warehouse Storeperson in the Air Force, you’ll work in a supportive team environment and receive practical training that prepares you for all aspects of warehouse management and logistics. You’ll perform procurement, storage, stock control, inventory management, physical distribution of materiel, and sustained logistics system support to the Air Force and broader Defence organisation.

Your 12-month experience is divided into stages. First, you’ll get paid to learn the military and job-specific skills you need for your role. Then you’ll post to a unit to apply your newly learned skills and may have opportunities to travel around Australia to take part in domestic exercises and operations. Throughout your experience, you'll be supported by professional and enthusiastic Air Force personnel.

After finishing your Gap Year program, you can choose to continue a career in the Air Force or you can use your new skills and experiences in future careers outside the ADF.

Your duties may include:

processing base demands for general stores and aircraft spares from Defence sources or purchase from industry
purchasing, raising of purchase orders, processing of invoices, and budget management
operating forklifts in the movement, loading and unloading of stores
physical receipt, storage, picking, packaging, dispatch and transportation of inventory and assets.

Salary:

Upon completion of your initial military and employment training, you’ll enjoy a salary package starting from $82,322 plus 16.4% superannuation.
