Job Description
Sales Representative - Job Listing - The Crazy Plumber
Sales Representative – Residential Plumbing (Paid Training, Clear Path to Six Figures)
The Crazy Plumber is hiring a customer-facing Sales Representative who starts with strong communication skills and develops real plumbing capability through a defined, supported training path.
This role is built for people who are good with homeowners, comfortable being measured, and interested in building a serious career in the skilled trades without needing prior plumbing experience on day one.
You'll learn how residential plumbing systems work, perform common service tasks as your authorization expands, and guide homeowners to the right solutions using a structured, professional process that protects quality and trust.
This is a system-backed position with training, coaching, modern plumbing tools, and clear expectations.
Scope of Work
Fulfill booked plumbing leads by offering an in-home sales experience. You will use internal training to evaluate the request, use CRM software to build estimates, and company resources to close sales.
Perform and/or support common residential plumbing service work as your technical capability grows, with clear escalation when something exceeds your current authorization
Create clear, professional estimates and help homeowners make informed decisions by explaining options, value, and next steps
Secure authorization for approved work and move jobs forward confidently
Use consistent documentation (photos, notes, estimates, payments) to enable remote quality review and protect service standards
Tools You'll Use
CRM: for managing your sales appointments, customer information, sales / service request information, note taking, estimates, and payment processing.
Media Portal: for photo documentation that supports quality assurance.
Training & Support
You will be onboarded with a 3-day paid orientation covering company integration, plumbing fundamentals, technology platforms, and process expectations. This will be followed by a 12-week training + probation program with weekly coaching, targeted skill development, and increasing responsibility. Ongoing quality assurance and real-time technical consultation with senior personnel - asking for help is expected, not penalized
Compensation
Base salary: $60,000 annually
Commission: 7.5% of collected revenue on estimates you sell (paid on top of base)
High performers earn substantially more. The base is stability. The commission is the upside.
Requirements
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Background in customer-facing work (retail, customer service, tool or equipment environments are a plus)
Comfortable being accountable to measurable results and following a defined process
Willing to learn technical skills through structured training and improve steadily over time
Interested in building a long-term role inside the skilled trades
Experience
This role is designed for people with proven customer-facing experience, not necessarily prior plumbing experience.
Relevant experience includes:
Sales, retail, or service roles where you were accountable to measurable results
Positions involving face-to-face interaction with homeowners or customers (e.g., retail floor, service counter, in-home consultations)
Roles that required explaining options, handling objections, and helping people make decisions
Work environments where following a defined process and documenting activity mattered
If you have worked in residential plumbing, HVAC, electrical, construction, or maintenance, that experience is useful-but it is not a prerequisite.
What matters more than industry background:
Comfort owning outcomes, not just completing tasks
A track record of learning new systems, products, or skills quickly
Willingness to be coached, reviewed, and measured as you grow
Candidates coming from customer facing positions, equipment or parts sales, customer service, hospitality, fitness membership sales, or similar customer-intensive environments are encouraged to apply.
If you are confident with people, open to learning a skilled trade through structured training, and comfortable being evaluated on results, your experience is likely a strong fit for this role.
