Job description
The Midrange and Engineered Platforms team provides infrastructure support for a range of environments running on non-Windows operating systems (OS) such as RedHat Enterprise Linux, AIX, Solaris, Oracle Linux and Oracle Virtual Machines. The team also support the proprietary Oracle Engineered Systems appliances, including Oracle ExaData, Private Cloud Appliances, Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliances, Big Data appliances, and the databases, operating systems and middleware running on these. As a Consultant, Infrastructure Engineering, you will be responsible for leading Agile Labour squads to deliver well maintained systems, in accordance with the Critical Hygiene Framework and the Group Information Risk Policy. You will be responsible for prioritising workload across squads, and effectively managing competing demands from projects and other BAU teams. You will identify and effectively manage risk on these platforms, to ensure the risk profile remains as low as reasonably practicable. You will work closely with teams across the enterprise, including Application teams to support their migration to cloud and exit of on-premises systems to determine remediation treatment plans for each platform, drive support and buy-in from senior leadership and provide technical leadership to the squad and consuming teams. Capabilities Ability to lead squads of 10+ people, providing day to day leadership and workload prioritisation. Proven analytical skills and evidence-based decision making. Oracle Databases Management of Oracle Exadata appliances Desired Experience Performance tuning on Exadata appliances Configure Exadata in accordance with NAB Security specifications.
