About the Role
We’re looking for a Maintenance Assistant to help keep LyLo Queenstown running smoothly and looking its best.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll support the day-to-day upkeep of the property — from quick fixes in guest rooms to general maintenance across our shared spaces. You’ll play a key part in delivering a safe, functional, and well-presented environment for both guests and the team.
No two days are the same — you’ll be solving problems, staying proactive, and making sure the little details are always taken care of.
This is a part-time role with a minimum guaranteed hours of 20 per week.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out day-to-day maintenance tasks across guest rooms and public areas
Respond to maintenance requests quickly and effectively
Complete minor repairs, painting, and general upkeep
Support preventative maintenance schedules and systems
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with health & safety standards
Help maintain a clean, functional, and guest-ready environment at all times
What You’ll Bring
Previous experience in a maintenance or handyperson role
Practical skills across general repairs and upkeep
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
Good communication skills and ability to work across teams
Basic computer skills (for logging jobs and maintenance systems)
Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
Valid NZ working rights
