We are excited to be recruiting for a Full-Time Hotel Front Desk Agent at Mere Hotel.
Candidates must have open availability to work days, evenings and weekends!
Mere Hotel, a 67-room boutique hotel, opened on Waterfront Drive directly adjacent to Stephen Juba Park. The Hotel Architect is David Penner, and interior design was completed by Walker Lawson. Mere Hotel, a geo-thermal building, is characterized by its distinct and signature vertical-coloured bars that encase the black building, providing a modern and colourful addition to the historic buildings, green space, and new condominiums that line the streets of the East Exchange District. Mere Hotel is a limited-service hotel that focuses on simple amenities, just what you need, and nothing you don’t. While the hotel is classified as select service, the amenities and experience provided is luxurious. Guestrooms feature high end finishes like custom wallpaper from Italy, Grohe bathroom fixtures, sleek counters, and built-in storage.
Job Overview
Join our vibrant hospitality team as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, where your energy and dedication will create memorable experiences for our guests from the moment they arrive. In this dynamic role, you’ll be the friendly face and first point of contact, ensuring smooth check-ins, providing exceptional guest services, and maintaining operational excellence. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will help foster a welcoming environment that keeps guests returning time and again.
Duties:
· Check guests in, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location.
· Ensure valid identification is taken from guests at check-in
· Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner
· Up-sell rooms where possible to maximize hotel revenue
· Answer all guest calls, messages, requests, questions or concerns
· Record guest preferences in the PMS system
· Check guests out, including resolving any late or disputed charges
· Accurately process all guest transactions using established procedures
· Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring.
· Take action to solve guest problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines.
· Ensure all credit cards and debit transactions balance
· Gather all necessary end of shift information for all departments
· Ensure all credit cards and debit transactions balance
· Print all required reports for audit, accounting and FOM
· Prepare Arrivals for following day
What you bring to the table:
· At least 1-2 years of Hotel Front Desk experience in a fast-paced Hotel setting.
· Hotel Night Audit experience is considered an asset
· Positive and hardworking attitude
· Ability to effectively communicate with team members.
· The ability to stay focused in a high volume, fast paced industry and ensure accuracy and procedures are followed.
