Logistics Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk prepares finished products for shipment or storage by placing them in shipping containers. This involves knowledge of various items of stock to verify content, selection of appropriate container types and sizes, inserting enclosures, using excelsior or other material to prevent breakage or damage, closing and sealing containers, and applying labels or entering identifying data on containers.

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk also performs a range of supply duties, including receiving, material handling, warehousing, and issuing of all types of repair parts and materials. These duties may include:

Loading material on and off skids, pallets, stands
Loading material on and off various types of delivery trucks
Preparing basic shipping documents and reports
Tracking and logging each shipment in and out of the facility with pertinent tracking information
Counting, weighing, recording data, applying tags and labels
