Job Description

Qualifications
Three years of installation, material handling and inventory control experience of systems furniture in various commercial and/or government/institutional environments
High School Diploma or GED Certificate
An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
Must possess, or can obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record
Must be able to pass a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office background check for access to secured County facilities and complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) background investigation to access County detention facilities
Current Herman Miller factory-trained installer certification
Forklift Operator Certification or ability to obtain certification
Two years experience leading a team
Five years of installation, material handling and inventory control experience of systems furniture in various commercial and/or government/institutional environments
Two years experience involving a variety of warehouse duties or handling of freestanding case goods
This physically demanding job requires the employee to exert over 100 pounds occasionally, 50-100 pounds frequently, and up to 20-50 pounds regularly
Work may also occur in a vehicle, which subjects the employee to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noise, and travel
The selected candidate must be proficient in using basic hand tools, benders, cordless power tools, and electrical testing equipment, including multimeter, megohmmeter, circuit tracer, etc
Must be capable of working with aerial lifts upon successfully completing County-provided training
Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive

Responsibilities
The ideal team member will create an outstanding customer experiences by completing their furniture projects on time, courteously, and professionally
The position is responsible for leading the daily activities related to new installations, relocation, reconfiguration, repair, inventory, and assessment of furniture systems, fixtures, and equipment
Assembles, disassembles, maintains, and secures all modular office systems and furniture
Establishes and monitors processes for the issuance of systems furniture to departments and applicable County agencies following County and departmental policies
Leads the practical application of new processes and skills in the accomplishment of assignments
Provides excellent customer service, including appropriate communication, when carrying out tasks such as scheduling installation and delivery, communicating delays and/or unforeseen conditions, and providing updates on project completion timelines
Ensures all applicable safety requirements are established and met for successful operation
Responds to requests for service, either directly or using the work order system
Operates various manual/power tools and warehouse materials handling equipment including electric and manual pallet jacks and operates a computerized inventory management system using software and other methods
Assess furniture under warranty and items suitable to be returned to inventory
Uses a County vehicle, including driving a 24' box truck with a lift gate to travel to vendor locations, other agencies, and throughout the County to pick up and deliver furniture and other items
performs maintenance duties including modifications/renovations to all furniture and equipment during moves/repairs, cleaning products after installation and before returning to storage/inventory
Reviews monthly inventory management billing for accuracy
Work will occur in an office or field environment, which may include exposure to loud noises, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions such as interaction with fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation

About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Lead Installer to join our Design and Construction Division. The ideal team member will create an outstanding customer experiences by completing their furniture projects on time, courteously, and professionally. The position is responsible for leading the daily activities related to new installations, relocation, reconfiguration, repair, inventory, and assessment of furniture systems, fixtures, and equipment.

As the landlord for all Maricopa County facilities, the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of more than 200 facilities, comprised of over 10 million square feet. Working Conditions
