Mechanical Engineer (Plumber)

Location: HMP The Verne, Verne Common Rd, Portland DT5 1EQ

Salary: £ £36,5+5.10

Contract: Full time, permanent, 3+ hours per week

We are seeking a level 3 qualified Plumber to join our team at a HMP The Verne, a category C adult male prison.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with one of the specific qualifications and a combination of the other skills:
• Two years’ experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent
• Be familiar with and able to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
• Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems
• Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
• Good Health & Safety knowledge
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
• C&G 618+ Plumbing and domestic heating
• C&G 5+62 certificate in Plumbing (Advanced craft)
• C&G 601+ Mechanical Engineering services (plumbing)
• C&G 6018 heating and ventilation installation
• C&G 612+ certificate in Plumbing
• C&G 214 Engineering systems maintenance
• C&G 6188 Heating and ventilating
• C&G 6088 certificate in heating and ventilating
• C&G 6032 the advanced craft certificate in plumbing
• EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating
