Dermatology Nurse

Position: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a 12-month contract, with the possibility of permanent employment.

Location: The role will be based at our Glen Waverley and/or Essendon Fields locations, with flexibility dependent on candidates' locations.

Qualifications: A Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent tertiary qualification is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in general practice is required.

The Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre (MVSC) is a multi-disciplinary specialist veterinary centre providing services from three locations to veterinary practices within Melbourne.

We are seeking a Veterinary Nurse to provide high-quality patient care and assist our specialist veterinarians in various tasks. The successful candidate will possess a high level of nursing skills and experience, as well as the ability to learn new skills quickly and work within a fast-paced environment.

The Veterinary Dermatology Nurse will communicate closely with clients, providing outstanding customer service, and assist the dermatologist in various specialist consultations and procedures throughout the day.

This is a full-time position working 4 x 10 hour days per week for FT, with a rostered day off or negotiated days PT.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Intradermal testing for allergies
Assisting with ear flushes, biopsies, laser surgery, MRI, hearing tests
Assisting with consultations and discharges
Client communication, follow-up, and support
This role would be ideal for a veterinary nurse who is highly motivated, can focus well, has good client and staff relationship skills, works well in a highly skilled team, and has experience working in a busy department environment.
