Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (40 hours per week)

Starting Salary: £26,547.00 per annum
GT Engine Services is hiring a Workshop Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our busy jet engine facility at Stansted Airport. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a flexible, proactive approach and the ability to multitask in a dynamic workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Support general workshop activities as directed by the Workshop Manager
• Assist in the movement, loading, unloading, and dispatch of jet engines, tooling, and components
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment while optimising available space
• Ensure compliance with environmental policies for waste handling and disposal
• Perform general cleaning and upkeep of workshop, work areas, and storage spaces
• Operate company vehicles, including forklifts, tugs, and vans (training provided where required)
• Support the stores team during peak periods, holidays, or absence cover
• Suggest and support layout or process improvements to enhance productivity
• Deliver a consistent and professional service to both internal teams and external customers
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the senior management team
Skills & Experience
• Computer literacy required (training on internal systems will be provided)
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Willingness to work across departments and adapt to operational needs
• Strong teamwork ethic with a flexible and positive attitude
• Previous workshop experience preferred, aviation background a distinct advantage
• Ability to identify problems and contribute to practical solutions
• Full UK Driving Licence required
• Forklift Licence preferred (or willingness to obtain through company training)
