We are currently seeking a talented individual to join the Jack Hulland Elementary School team. JHES acknowledges and respects, and are grateful for the opportunity to work, learn and play within the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council. Jack Hulland Elementary is a Kindergarten to Grade 7 neighbourhood school aiming to foster a welcoming, safe, and inclusive educational environment; one where each student is supported to meet their full potential. This position provides an exciting opportunity to join the team at Jack Hulland Elementary School (JHES) as a Temporary 0.+ FTE Teacher from August 21, 2026, to April 17, 2026, followed by a Temporary 0.4 FTE position from April 20, 2026, to June 12, 2026. From August to mid-April, the successful candidate will teach 0.5 FTE Grade 4 and 0.4 FTE Core French. From April 20 to June 12, 2026, they will continue with the 0.4 FTE Core French teaching role. JHES is a Ready to Learn School, committed to fostering student success through the Neurosequential Model in Education.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelor of Education
Teaching experience in an elementary context;
Knowledge of the Core French program at the elementary level, as well as French language skills and proficiency;
Teaching experience in the use of current, research-based practices for literacy and numeracy learning;
Teaching experience with integration of social and emotional learning throughout classroom programming;
Knowledge, skills, and training related to the Neurosequential Model in Education (NME) informed practice is an asset.

Candidates should have and may be assessed on their:
Knowledge of & sensitivity to the culture & aspirations of the First Nations people of Yukon & a culturally diverse student population.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trusting relationships when working with students, families, staff members and administrators;
Effective and respectful classroom management;
Strong planning and organizational skills;
A strong commitment to the practice of differentiated instruction and assessment within classroom programming designed to meet student needs;
Ability to adapt curriculum to meet a wide range of learning abilities and styles and to meet the needs of students with Individual Education Plans;
Willingness and ability to work as a member of a professional team and to promote, support and work collaboratively with all staff on school initiatives within the total school program;
Willingness to support the philosophy, values and beliefs of the school and to support the school growth plan;
