The Melbourne Design Centre (MDC) is part of the Motorola Solutions Software Enterprise, Mobile Video and Cybersecurity Organisation. As a fully integrated R&D and Delivery site, the MDC is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, developing, and delivering mobile software and services that transform first responder operational response, coordination, and management. Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Software Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers hands-on experience in software testing and automation, working alongside experienced developers and QA engineers in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of comprehensive test strategies, including test plans, test scenarios, and test cases aligned with project objectives and business requirements
Utilize JIRA and TestRail for efficient test management, execution tracking, and defect management throughout the testing lifecycle
Conduct end-to-end test execution, including logging test results and issues, and performing defect re-testing until resolution
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Work with 3rd party vendors or developers in testing to ensure delivery as per design specifications and governance processes.
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of testing principles and processes
Collaborate with business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to assist with test execution and ensure accurate results
Basic Requirements
Required Qualifications
2-3 years of hands-on experience testing Mobile Applications (iOS and Android platforms).
Experience working in different system testing processes, methodologies, and best practices (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
Demonstrated experience in both manual and automated testing methodologies for mobile applications, with the ability to effectively balance both approaches based on project requirements.
ISTQB or similar testing certification is a plus.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language (C# or Python preferred).
