Your role
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Associate Director – Software Engineering to contribute to feature development within our Data Platform POD.
This role is ideal for an experienced developer (5–15 years) who thrives in agile environments and is passionate about building scalable microservices on Azure. You will work closely with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to deliver high-impact features that power our enterprise data platform.

You'll be working in the Data platforms - CEDA - Development team and be located in Pune, India.
Your expertise
Key Responsibilities:
Feature Development & Delivery
• Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of microservices and platform features
• Apply deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot to build scalable, cloud-native solutions
• Ensure code quality, performance, and security through rigorous reviews and testing
Platform Engineering & Optimization
• Support the evolution of the data platform architecture using Azure services
• Optimize Spark/Delta pipelines and AKS-based deployments for performance and reliability
• Implement reusable components and automation for faster feature delivery
Technical Collaboration
• Work closely with architects and senior engineers to align on design patterns and platform vision
• Collaborate with DevOps and security teams to ensure compliance and operational readiness
• Participate in cross-functional forums and technical working groups
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
• Maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and onboarding guides
• Share learnings and reusable patterns across engineering chapters
Preferred Tech Stack & Tools
Languages: Java (mandatory), Python, Scala, SQL
Frameworks: Spring Boot (mandatory), REST APIs
Cloud & Infra: Azure (AKS, ADLS, Azure Functions, Event Hub, Azure Active Directory)
Data Platform: Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake
Monitoring & Observability: BigPanda, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor
Collaboration: Confluence, MS Teams, Git, Stack Overflow (internal)
Security & Compliance: CyberArk, ACLs, RBAC, Managed Identities, cross-tenancy controls
Required Skills & Experience
• 5–15 years of hands-on software development experience
• Proven experience building and deploying microservices in cloud environments
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data pipelines, and platform engineering
• Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have
• Experience with data platform modernization or migration projects
• Exposure to Spark performance tuning and Databricks cluster optimization
• Familiarity with DENODO or other data virtualization tools
• Contributions to open-source or internal developer communities
