About the role


Join a team where engineering meets impact. As a Senior Engineer (Supportability), you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational readiness of the Royal New Zealand Navy fleet. You’ll lead Condition Based Monitoring trials, analyse vibration and thermographic data, and provide actionable insights that directly influence maintenance strategies. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role where your technical expertise will shape the lifecycle support of critical marine systems.

About you


You are a technically sharp, solutions-focused engineer with a passion for marine systems and lifecycle support. You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate clearly, and enjoy mentoring others. Your experience with CBM tools, vibration and thermographic analysis, and engineering documentation sets you apart. You’re proactive, safety-conscious, and committed to continuous improvement. Key Required Skills


Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Experience in condition monitoring techniques, with an emphasis on vibration analysis.
Effective team collaboration
Excellent written and verbal communication
Initiative and workload prioritisation
Intermediate software proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Continuous improvement mindset
Technical documentation and reporting skills

Key Required Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering (Washington Accord accredited), or equivalent recognised engineering qualification and subsequent experience.
Eligibility for Professional Engineer membership via recognised body
Desirable: ISO VCAT1, TCAT1, LCAT1 or equivalent certification
Desirable: Marine Engineering Officer Certificate Class 3 or above / Navy engineering experience
