Clerk Grade 9/10 Salary ($129,464 - $142,665 per annum) plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Join a team at the forefront of disaster recovery governance and play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy and accountability across the State. This is a unique opportunity to lead high-impact reporting and influence decision-making that affects communities and funding at a national scale.
About the role:
In this role, you will:
Provide strategic leadership in financial reporting and governance under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
Deliver insightful, high-quality reports and performance analytics to senior stakeholders across government.
Prepare and certify periodic disaster expenditure reports (fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, annually), briefing notes, and claims submissions to the Commonwealth.
Liaise with agencies to ensure forecasting accuracy and compliance under DRFA 2018 guidelines.
Partner with stakeholders including NEMA and internal teams to manage reporting outcomes, negotiations and respond to ad hoc information requests.
Lead initiatives to enhance financial systems, transparency and reporting tools for better oversight and accountability.
Oversee project planning from requirement gathering through to user acceptance testing and training, ensuring effective delivery of strategic goals.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Extensive experience working in financial reporting and funding allocation in complex, sensitive environments.
Expertise in interpreting and presenting complex accounting issues, with strong analytical acumen and knowledge of government sector reporting.
Skills in using data visualisation tools to uncover and communicate performance insights.
Proven leadership and stakeholder management abilities to build trust, align interests, and deliver impactful outcomes.
Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and building systems that support long-term financial governance success.
Essential requirements:
Full membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or CPA Australia or IIA Australia, or tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant professional experience.

About the Agency
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) is a statutory corporation within the NSW Premier’s Department. The RA will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the RA will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.
