The Role

The Senior Platform Developer will work within the development team, collaborating with developers and DevOps engineers to deliver business objectives by proactively developing, automating, and iteratively improving deployment pipelines and infrastructure used by other developers.

How You Can Make a Difference
• Understand the strategy and objectives of the team and develop operational automation to help achieve this.
• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of IaC practices to automate software and infrastructure provisioning.
• Work with network and security engineers to ensure seamless integration of new and existing services.
• Oversee and maintain the version control system and apply best practices.
• Establish and maintain comprehensive logging, monitoring, and observability systems to enable proactive detection, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues.
• Contribute to analysis of performance and resource utilisation to identify inefficiencies and implement optimisations that enhance speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Engage with a progressive and transparent culture of learning and development.
• Continually strive for high cadence and lean agile principles that deliver business objectives.

Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience working effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to contribute individually while valuing and integrating the input of others.
• Hands-on experience working on enterprise software projects.

Skills And Competencies
• Background in development, ideally in .NET, with a strong understanding of modern best practices in this area.
• Experience using Terraform to provision infrastructure.
• Experience of using services within AWS for data storage, secrets management, queues etc.
• Experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes.
• Experience working with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD for source control and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong awareness of micro services architecture and event-driven systems.
