Job Title: Senior Childrenswear Designer

We are a leading supplier of childrenswear to the high street, seeking an experienced Childrenswear Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing childrenswear and babywear for both boys and girls.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing commercial childrenswear and babywear products (0 years upwards) for both boys and girls. They must stay up-to-date with the latest trends in babywear and maintain a high standard of design within the brief. This includes co-ordinating with the sales team and technical team to ensure designs meet specifications and costs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Designing commercial childrenswear and babywear products
• Staying up-to-date with babywear trends
• Maintaining a high standard of design within the brief
• Coordinating with the sales team and technical team
• Analysing sales feedback from customers
• Creating and sending new sample requests
• Supplying factories with clear details and accurate artwork
• Checking and maintaining license portal websites
• Attending weekly meetings with suppliers and licenses
• Regular store visits
• Managing critical paths
• Liaising with Far East suppliers
• Presenting ideas to clients and buying teams
• Preparing briefs, technical packs, and trend boards

Skills Required:

The ideal candidate will have experience of designing childrenswear and babywear for both boys and girls. They must have worked with high street retailers and supermarkets and have either graphic design or styling led skills. A background in licensed goods is advantageous, as well as exceptional communication, organisational, and presentation skills.

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
