We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our Group Accounting team in our Sydney head office.
Please note this role is being recruited as a 6-month contract.
The Opportunity - About the Role
A key hands-on role in our Group Accounting team (part of the overall Group Financial Control team), which supports the overall stewardship of the organisation. In this role you will support the delivery of accurate, complete, and timely financial results and analysis, and contribute to building a high performance and collaborative team environment. The role will require strong stakeholder management skills and a solution mindset to support continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.
Support the preparation and review of accurate financial accounting information for the Stockland Group.
Support the preparation and review of robust and meaningful balance sheet reconciliations for the Group. Act as the Group Finance champion for the BlackLine reconciliation system.
Support the completion of Group close and consolidation activities, including supporting Business Unit month end and preparing/reviewing and/or approving journals and reconciliations for intercompany transactions and group consolidation.
Support and contribute to the compliance with audit, tax and other regulatory obligations within remit.
Support the preparation of information for monthly/half yearly regulatory requirements for submission to teams such as Specialist Services for Tax.
Support the Group Statutory Reporting team with the preparation of half year and year-end financial statements and other financial reporting deliverables in line with Group reporting timetable.
Identify methods to update, simplify and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the end-to-end stakeholder experience through technology and/or process solutions.
About You
Appropriate tertiary qualification/s is required
Accounting qualification (CA / CPA or equivalent) is required
Management and financial accounting experience
Experience in analytical focussed roles in finance and/or accounting
Demonstrated time management skills and working under pressure to meet deadlines
