About the Role
As the Regional Group Manager – Investment & Partnerships you will play a critical role in shaping the future of health infrastructure in Aotearoa by leading the planning, prioritisation, and execution of infrastructure investment and partnership strategies across the Te Manawa Taki Region within the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG). You'll be responsible for aligning regional investment planning with national priorities, managing capital funding processes, and fostering strong partnerships.
You will lead the development of business cases, oversee multimillion dollar investment portfolios and ensure robust financial and performance reporting frameworks are in place.
This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives in complex environment and is passionate about delivering infrastructure that supports equitable health outcomes.
About the Team/Service
The IIG team are focused on delivering high-impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system. Giving support, oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, they understand that safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders.
Serving over 1 million people, a fifth of New Zealand's population, and stretching across the middle of the North Island from the east to the west coasts, Te Manawa Taki means ‘the heartbeat'. The name reflects the geographical position of the region which includes five districts – Taranaki, Waikato, Lakes, Bay of Plenty and Tairāwhiti. Across the five districts, IIG manages infrastructure spanning 14 sites and more than 100 buildings.
About you
You are a strategic, forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of infrastructure investment, capital planning, and partnership development in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. With over a decade of experience in senior leadership roles, you bring a proven track record of delivering results in public sector or health infrastructure settings, where strategic vision, financial acumen, and stakeholder engagement are critical to success.
You lead through change with clarity and purpose while fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and a skilled communicator who can influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
You understand the importance of culturally responsive leadership and are passionate about ensuring infrastructure investment that supports equitable health outcomes for all communities.
You will bring:
10+ years' experience in senior leadership roles involving strategic investment, capital planning, and partnership management
Proven success managing complex infrastructure portfolios and multimillion-dollar budgets
Strong financial acumen and commercial insight, with experience in business case development and investment prioritisation
Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills across internal and external stakeholders
Experience working in bicultural and diverse environments, with a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2026
