Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play an important role in assisting the QA department to ensure the facility is compliant with all ******** and relevant Regulations and will assist the Production Teams with guidance from a quality assurance/control perspective. This position will help to identify and maintain the highest standard of safe, high quality ******** product while ensuring all production areas are maintained in a compliant and sanitary state.

Responsibilities

Assists in developing and writing SOPs for all areas of the facility ensuring compliance with the ******** Act and GPP/GMP and provides guidance with respect to GPP, GDP, GACP, and GMP.

Create and maintain facility records, pest control, preventative maintenance, calibration records, temperature and humidity records, retained samples, etc.

Assist the Quality Department in maintaining the overall quality of all products and creating and executing internal audits, to verify policies are being followed.

Help manage and organize all quality documentation to assist in Health Canada inspections.

Maintain and expand knowledge base of ******** plants, grow systems, procedures, and growth stages.

This role will also be trained on and will assist in label production when needed.

Ensure Pest Management Program implementation.

Use of ATP meter to ensure cleanliness of production areas.

QC sampling of finished product.

Perform QA duties for materials management; release label creation, application, and inventory follow up.

Create specification charts based on products that are sampled.

Compliance documentation collection and verification.

Signoff for in-process checks.

Product receipt and inspection.

Sanitation verification.

Out-of-specification / deviation investigations.

Corrective and preventative action implementation.

Sampling and Troubleshooting quality issues.

Other duties as operationally required.

Experience/Education

Completion of College Diploma or University Degree in Plant or Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related field with 1-3 years of relevant experience.

OR 2-5 years Equivalent experience/education

Understanding sound quality assurance principles from a production/manufacturing perspective.

Familiarity with analytical and microbiological laboratory techniques.

Experience within the ******** industry is considered an asset.

Skills

Proficient in MS Office Suite and basic computer systems (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).

Ability to communicate (verbal and written) efficiently and professionally with all levels of staff.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, able to multi-task and prioritize tasks.

A team player with a professional positive attitude, but also able to work independently.

Good understanding of GPP, GMP, HACCP, Manufacturing Standards and Best practices

Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a consistent level of accuracy.

Experience with the ******** Act, Food and Drug Act, Pest Control Products Act is considered an asset.
