Job Title: Advanced Trainee in Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine
Location:Hunter New England

Where You'll Be Working:
John Hunter Children's Hospital (JHCH) is a specialised tertiary referral paediatric hospital in Newcastle, providing complex medical, surgical, major trauma, and neonatal care services for Northern NSW.

The hospital sees almost 25,000 children and young people present to the emergency department, have +,000 admitted to hospital, and perform over 100,000 occasions of service through outpatient clinics.

Your Role:
The Advanced Trainee will participate in the multidisciplinary assessment and management of adolescents and young people who identify as transgender or gender diverse and the co-morbid diagnosis that may occur.

This may include mental health difficulties, common developmental conditions, disordered eating, concerns around ****** health, and dealing with high-risk youth.

Indigenous clients comprise approximately 8% of all presentations, adding additional cultural complexities.

Requirements:
MBBS or equivalent qualification
Currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
Registered with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, as an Advanced Trainee or equivalent
Demonstrated experience in Community Paediatrics, Adolescent Medicine, or General Paediatric outpatient management including clinics
Awareness and interest in supporting young people who identify as transgender or gender diverse
Commitment to and requirement to complete further training
Demonstrated ability to manage and work with teams to support and optimise their capacity to deliver services
Demonstrated enthusiasm and proven teaching skills
Demonstrated understanding of the social determinants of health and their importance in improving health outcomes for children, young people, and their families
Salary Range:$83,554.00 - $130,532.00Hours per Week:20
