Permanent, Full-Time opportunity
True hybrid working – work from home and our Mitcham office
$107,675.65 - $113,862.32 per annum plus 12% superannuation
The Role

Reporting to the Head of Commercial and Portfolio Management Office, this role will be responsible for administering, managing, supporting, and governing a comprehensive and integrated contract and procurement service to all Service Futures (Technology) stakeholders at Yarra Valley Water. This position requires a strong understanding of procurement frameworks, commercial acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively with business units while complying with Yarra Valley Water’s procurement policy and procedures.

Your key responsibilities

Conduct procurement in accordance with Victorian Government and internal procurement policies and processes to meet agreed objectives, whilst ensuring agreed guidelines are adhered to.
Work in conjunction with the Head of Technologies to manage contract extension and renewals for existing supplier contracts, including consultancy labour.
Manage small sourcing events including selecting and contracting with new suppliers and terminating where applicable.
Manage tenders up to setting up contracts, including coordination with external agencies i.e. Industry Capability Network (ICN), Probity and/or legal advisors.
Establish and manage fit-for-purpose vendor panels and manage performance to ensure contract and commercial success.
Check all due processes have been followed by the requestor up to the point of PO creation.
Ensure procurement systems are maintained and governed including monitoring of expiring contracts, onboarding & creation of new suppliers and tracking of expiring certificates.
Generate weekly and monthly reports specific to procurement performance including analysis of contract expenditure and work closely with the Head of Commercial and Portfolio Management Office to advise and implement cost saving opportunities.
Provide advice, guidance and training of procurement tools and processes to all divisions within the Technology Division.
Identify and drive implement process improvement opportunities including improving the Contract and Vendor Management capability, Financial and Procurement capability across the division.
Developing strong and positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What we’re looking for



Tertiary Qualification in Business and/or Procurement – Mandatory
Procurement and Vendor management experience - Mandatory
Experience in Contract establishment, management and termination techniques and practices
Knowledge of and experience in planning, process improvement and the management and governance of related business and technology systems
Extensive knowledge and experience in MS Office tools, especially Microsoft Excel
A demonstrated focus on customer service with experience in managing a broad range of stakeholders across the business
Analytical and negotiation skills appropriate to tender selection and contract management.
Ability to lead and influence cross functional teams and relationships and manage conflict resolution.
Demonstrated experience in a similar role in a public sector is advantageous
