Physical Education Teacher- Female - (ALB-82+)

Job Purpose
To plan and deliver high-quality physical education for IB PYP and MYP students with a focus on developing physical literacy, teamwork, and a lifelong commitment to physical fitness. The role also involves coaching a school outdoor team sport and promoting wellness, inclusion, and sportsmanship. Key/Primary Responsibilities of the Role PE Curriculum Delivery:
- Plan and implement engaging PE lessons aligned with the IB PYP and MYP framework and standards.
- Foster the development of gross motor skills, fitness habits, and teamwork through structured physical activity.
- Create a safe and inclusive environment for all learners, ensuring appropriate differentiation. Coaching & Sports Training:
- Coach and manage a school outdoor team sport (e.g., football, athletics, field hockey, volleyball) across age levels.
- Conduct after-school training, organize practice sessions, and manage team participation in tournaments.
- Identify and nurture sporting talent, tracking performance and motivating athletes. Interdisciplinary & Inquiry-Based Learning:
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate PE into units of inquiry where appropriate.
- Promote ATL skills such as self-management, collaboration, and reflection through physical education. Pastoral and Holistic Student Development:
- Support students’ mental and emotional well-being through structured physical challenges and teamwork.
- Encourage resilience, discipline, and sportsmanship among students. Assessment & Reporting:
- Design and implement formative and summative assessments of student performance in PE.
- Provide regular feedback and maintain documentation aligned with IB requirements. Secondary Responsibilities - Assist in organizing sports day, interhouse competitions, and health & fitness workshops.
- Serve as a tutor or mentor for a group of students, supporting their overall development.
- Coordinate with external coaches and clubs for enrichment and exposure.
- Support community outreach initiatives through sports. Key Success Metrics - Student participation and engagement in PE lessons and team sports.
- Successful planning and execution of sports activities and tournaments.
- Development of student ATL skills and learner profile attributes through PE.
- Positive feedback from students, parents, and colleagues.
