The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality vehicle painting and refinishing services, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards and regulations. Responsibilities:
Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming
Apply paint and coatings using spray guns, brushes, or other methods
Mix and match paints and coatings to achieve the required finish
Repair minor bodywork defects, dents, and scratches before painting
Inspect finished work to ensure quality, colour match, and smooth finish
Maintain and clean painting equipment, spray booths, and work areas
Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures related to paint and chemicals
Record work completed, materials used, and report any issues or defects
Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and management to ensure deadlines are met
Perform other duties as required within the workshop
Requirements and Skills:
Minimum NZ Certificate in Automotive or Vehicle Refinishing or equivalent experience
At least 3 years of on-site vehicle painting experience
Strong knowledge of paint systems, preparation techniques, and refinishing standards
Ability to mix and apply paints accurately and efficiently
Attention to detail and high standards of workmanship
Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental requirements in painting operations
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physically fit and able to handle manual work
Organised, reliable, and able to meet deadlines
Willingness to participate in training and development
Must be willing to undergo random drug testing
Must be a NZ Citizen, NZ Resident, or hold a valid work visa
The successful applicants will also have the opportunity to work in different locations (Wellington, Gisborne, Waikato, Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Nelson, Otago, Taranaki, Bay of Plenty, Northland, Manawatū-Whanganui, West Coast, Southland, Canterbury, Marlborough, and Tasman), providing a unique chance to explore New Zealand's diverse regions.
This is a full-time permanent role, with an hourly pay rate between NZ$28 and NZ$38 depending on experience. Guaranteed hours are a minimum of 30 hours per week, up to a maximum of 70 hours per week. Work is typically between Monday and Friday, 7:00am to 7:00pm, with occasional weekend work as required.
