Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk, you will be a trusted Second Line partner and operational risk subject matter expert, acting as a conduit between Risk and the Business to facilitate a strong, embedded risk culture that optimises risk/reward decision making and supports the delivery of strategic objectives.

You will be responsible for providing an advanced level of operational risk management review, challenge, advice and guidance, delivering high quality and timely Second Line enterprise-wide oversight and monitoring of Kiwibank’s operational risks. You will liaise and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders and will lead and execute or be a key contributor to risk capability uplift initiatives.

At Kiwibank, we will help you build on your strengths and learn new skills, but in the meantime, we would love to hear from you if you have the following:

5+ years’ experience in operational risk management in Australasia’s banking/financial industry, preferably in a Second Line Risk role.
In-depth understanding of operational risk and compliance frameworks, with first-hand experience of implementing frameworks and tools.
Demonstrable ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, lead, and influence decisions and actions of others, including internal business partners, external stakeholders, and senior management.
Sound time management skills, working autonomously to deliver multiple initiatives and successfully handle conflicting priorities.
A team player who challenges the status quo, contributes innovative ideas, and maintains a process improvement and simplification mindset.
