Pilbara IT are looking to hire a Network Engineer / Network Strategist to manage and maintain network infrastructure for clients on-site in South Hedland, WA.
Pilbara IT is a trusted ICT services provider based in South Hedland and Karratha, supporting a wide range of industries including education, childcare, logistics, defence, government, and more. We’ve been delivering reliable IT support, including networking, hardware, software, and security solutions across the Pilbara region for over 11 years.
This full-time role will involve working with our clients directly, providing on-site support,network expertise, analysing, developing, interpreting and evaluating complex system design and architecture specifications, data models and diagrams in the development, configuration and integration of computer systems. Researching, analysing, evaluating and monitoring network infrastructure to ensure networks are configured to operate at optimal performance. Assessing and recommending improvements to network operations and integrated hardware, software, communications and operating systems. Providing specialist skills in supporting and troubleshooting network problems and emergencies. Installing, configuring, testing, maintaining and administering new and upgraded networks, software database applications, servers and workstations.Providing network programming in support of specific business needs and requirements. Preparing and maintaining procedures and documentation for network inventory, and recording diagnosis and resolution of network faults, enhancements and modifications to networks, and maintenance instructions. Monitoring network traffic, and activity, capacity and usage to ensure continued integrity and optimal network performance.
The ideal candidate:
Experience in Network Administration and/or Engineering
Solid understanding of switching, routing, and network security
Hands-on experience with configuring and managing network hardware (e.g., switches, routers, firewalls)
Qualifications or certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or similar are highly regarded
Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and a team player
Experience in technical support or field support is a bonus

Salary: AUD $80,000 – $90,000, based on experience
