Development team lead role overseeing a critical student and staff portal platform

HEO10 level role of $156,277 + 17% superannuation
Solve by Talent is partnering with the University of Sydney to recruit a Manager, Mobile & Portal Development to support the delivery of key Information and Communications Technology initiatives that help shape the future of education, research, and innovation.

The opportunity

This role leads a critical platform that supports student and staff portal experiences across mobile and web, connecting users to services, applications, events, maps and University resources.

You will provide technical and architectural leadership across React Native, React, Node and AWS/serverless environments, helping ensure the platform remains stable, secure, modern and user-friendly.

What you’ll do

Lead the design, development and lifecycle of mobile and portal applications.

Provide technical and architectural guidance across mobile, web and cloud components.

Coach developers, guide code-level decisions and uplift engineering practice.

Manage prioritisation, demand and technical debt across a critical University platform.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams and technical specialists.

What we’re looking for

Significant experience leading mobile and web application development.

Strong technical depth across React Native, React, Node and cloud-native environments.

Experience guiding architecture, code quality, security and platform modernisation.

Strong leadership, coaching, prioritisation and stakeholder communication skills.

Ability to balance reliability, user experience, technical debt and delivery outcomes.
