About us
Placemaking NSW is responsible for managing and caring for some of Sydney’s most iconic harbourside venues and locations, including The Rocks, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour and White Bay Power Station. We also lead the planning and delivery of the Bays West Urban Renewal Precinct, a state significant project that will bring new homes, jobs, and public spaces to 77 hectares of government-owned land just 2 kilometres from Sydney's CBD.
The role
There are two opportunities available for this role: one is a permanent position, and the other is a temporary role until February 2026.
This is your chance to manage and deliver events in some of Sydney’s most iconic precincts, including The Rocks, Barangaroo, White Bay Power Station, Circular Quay, and Darling Harbour. From state-significant events like New Year’s Eve and Vivid Sydney to community festivals and partnership activations with Sydney Fringe and Sydney Festival, you’ll be at the centre of it all. You’ll manage everything from creative concepts to logistics, working closely with stakeholders to ensure every event is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
It’s a dynamic role that comes with challenges, like balancing competing priorities and ensuring compliance with government policies. But the rewards are just as big—you’ll help shape vibrant public experiences in high-profile environments while managing a diverse portfolio of events in some of the city’s most loved locations.
