Job Description
We encourage Passion to Grow and improve
Are you a finance professional who enjoys structure, consistency, and being the go-to person for making sure the numbers are right? This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in the fundamentals—like posting journals, preparing P&L reports, and supporting the business with practical, grounded financial advice.
At Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, we are seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking Management Accountant who is ready to take the next step into a Finance Business Partner role.
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of your assigned divisions, with a strong focus on accuracy, process improvement and collaboration.
Key responsibilities:
Produce monthly management and project reports that highlight key performance indicators, cost drivers, and financial trends to inform business planning and performance.
Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals and payroll allocations, ensuring accurate and timely financial results.
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for your division, helping teams plan effectively and understand key financial drivers and performance.
Translate financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders, supporting a culture of accountability and transparency.
Partner with business stakeholders to provide financial insights and support effective decision-making across programs and projects.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for someone who’s analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about driving financial performance through strategic insights and cost management.
You will have:
Ability to interpret complex financial data, perform variance analysis, and deliver clear, actionable insights to support decision-making.
Proficiency in developing and maintaining cost models, preparing budgets, and managing forecasts aligned with business objectives.
Experience in tracking project costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting project governance through timely insights.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence strategic outcomes.
Capability to identify inefficiencies and implement enhancements in financial systems, tools, and workflows.
CA/CPA (or are working toward), or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
