About the Business Unit:

Located across the NWMA are fourteen non-custodial locations in the Melbourne CBD, Broadmeadows, Coolaroo, Reservoir, South Morang, Melton, Sunshine, Werribee, Derrimut, Laverton, Tullamarine and Thomastown, plus the Neighbourhood Justice Centre in Collingwood, and the Court Services Unit at the Melbourne Magistrates Court. There are four youth justice office locations in Broadmeadows, Reservoir, Werribee and Sunshine. There are three maximum security prisons - Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, Melbourne Assessment Prison and the Metropolitan Remand Centre, as well as the minimum-security Judy Lazarus Transition Centre.

You will work across three different locations - Broadmeadows, Coolaroo and Tullamarine.

About the Role:

The Justice Officer Team Leader will monitor service delivery standards, identify service delivery issues and recommend appropriate and timely solutions to those problems.

Some of your duties will include:

Supervising a team of administrative staff to ensure effective delivery of operational support, administrative and clients services, including routine supervision, performance planning, training needs analysis and mentoring as appropriate
Ability to provide and demonstrate positive leadership and direction in a high-capacity front counter environment, ensuring that the level of service and hospitality exhibited towards the Departments clients and fellow employees, are consistently delivers at the highest level of professionalism, & customer service excellence
Ensuring that Justice Officer resources are deployed to meet operational demands and a flexible and cooperative approach is taken to addressing competing service demand needs.

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

The ability to lead a team, promoting growth and development of staff
An openness to new ideas and approaches while offering own opinions, making suggestions and maintaining discipline in keeping to work planned or assigned

The ability to recognise own emotional responses to a range of people or events, and the impact these can have on others while recognising that problems or challenges are a normal part of working and actions can be taken to manage them.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications/Requirements:

A drivers licence is preferable as you will be expected to work between three different locations - Broadmeadows, Tullamarine and Coolaroo
