Our client is seeking a Diesel Fleet mechanic for their office in Odessa. TX

US Citizens only.

A rotation of 14/7 is available as well as housing.

Hourly wage is DOE and $20.00- $36.00 an hour plus weekly overtime.

Job Summary:

The Diesel Heavy Duty Fleet Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of the Company’s fleet. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining diesel-powered trucks and trailers. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform thorough diagnostic tests and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other components to maintain fleet performance and safety.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance services to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage and work performed, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and standards, including DOT and EPA requirements.
• Assist in managing inventory levels of spare parts and order replacements as needed to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to share knowledge and best practices.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and provide on-call support as necessary to keep the fleet operational.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Diesel Mechanic with a focus on heavy-duty vehicles is required; Would like to see 2-5 years.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred but not required.
