About the Role:

The Diesel Mechanic position at Dollar General Fleet is vital in ensuring that all trucks, trailers, and yard tractors are safely operational and meet all federal compliance standards.

What We’re Looking For:
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with Class A trucks.
• Proficiency in air brakes, and hydraulic & electrical systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience is mandatory.
• Familiarity with tire repair, including mounting and dismounting, is a plus.
• The ability to perform DOT inspections and ensure compliance is essential.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
• Diagnosing and repairing various truck and trailer components such as doors, floors, side panels, as well as electrical and air brake systems.
• Conducting preventive maintenance (PMs) on all tractor and trailer equipment and efficiently documenting repair orders.
• Performing essential maintenance repairs to optimize safety and reliability across fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, and lift-gates.
• Adhering to company policies and safety regulations to help maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Assisting drivers in addressing any vehicle-related concerns.
• Maintaining for Class 8 trucks, trailers, and yard tractors.
• Safely operating various tools and equipment, including gauges, forklifts, shunt trucks, torches, and grinders.
