Health Policy SIG Lead |Volunteer Role

Overview:

The System Dynamics Society seeks a dedicated volunteer to lead the Health Policy Special Interest Group (SIG). This group is pivotal in advancing the application of System Dynamics to health policy, fostering collaboration, and encouraging knowledge sharing among members interested in health systems, policy analysis, and health dynamics modeling. This position offers the opportunity to shape the direction of health policy initiatives within the Society and contribute to building a vibrant community around this important field.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:
• Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Health Policy SIG in alignment with the System Dynamics Society’s objectives.
• Facilitate collaboration and engagement among SIG members, ensuring diverse perspectives and expertise are represented.

Event Planning and Community Engagement:
• Organize and host monthly meetings, discussions, or workshops for SIG members
• Contribute to the development of health policy-focused sessions for Society conferences and events
• Foster a welcoming environment for new members and maintain a network of health policy professionals and researchers.

Content Development and Knowledge Sharing:
• Identify and share educational and training opportunities for SIG members, including potential speakers, webinars, and resources.
• Curate relevant content for SIG members, such as research findings, case studies, and System Dynamics applications in health policy.

Collaboration:
• Represent the Health Policy SIG within the System Dynamics Society, collaborating with other SIG leaders and the Society’s office team.

Time Commitment:

· 3-5 hours per month

· Two-year (2026-2026) commitment

Qualifications:
• Some background or strong interest in health policy, public health, health systems, or a related field with a focus on System Dynamics.
• Communication and organizational skills.
