Front-End Developer

Burnley – Hybrid (2-3 days in the office)

£32,500 - £37,500 depending on experience

Focus 5 Recruitment are seeking a technically competent and commercially astute Front-End Web Developer to join our ecommerce client based in Burnley

We are looking for candidates with at least 3 years commercial experience, who are passionate about front-end development, appreciate user experience and design, have a good attention to detail and who proactively experiment with upcoming front-end technologies.

This long-established manufacturer have entered the world of direct to consumer trading online which has had a significant impact on revenues for the business. They are keen to build a creative development team and this new role will be the first of many planned hires in the coming 18-24 months. There is significant opportunity for career development and progress for the right individual.

We require someone with a keen interest in creating fantastic online user experiences, as well as the following skills, experience and knowledge:
• This is primarily a position for a Front-end Web Developer with at least 3 years commercial experience
• You must be able to attend their Burnley office 2-3 times each week

Essential skills for this Front-End Developer Role:
• Hands-on coding using Angular/TypeScript/JavaScript/CSS/HTML5 (front end)
• Design intuitive application workflows and user interfaces using HTML5
• Optimize applications for performance and responsive design
• Write and review technical design specs
• Coordinate and communicate ideas and activities with teams around the globe
• Demonstrate a strong eye for quality design and user interactions
• Good communication skills with the ability to accurately interpret briefs and respond in timely turnarounds

Other desirable skills for the front-end developer:

Though this is primarily a front-end development role, any additional knowledge of the following will also be an advantage:
• Understanding of database-driven web development including SQL Server, ASP.NET (VB or C#) as well as using tools such as Visual Studio and Dreamweaver
• Understanding of eCommerce, SEO and online marketing techniques and strategies
• Experience with Optimizely would give a distinct advantage but is not essential
