Are you passionate about making a real impact on people's lives? We're offering a permanent part-time position for a Gambling Counsellor, working 3 consecutive days per week. Availability on Wednesdays is essential, and we offer the flexibility to work from home 1 day per week.







About the Role



As a GambleAware Gambling Counsellor, you'll be at the forefront of providing life-changing support to individuals and families affected by gambling harm. You’ll deliver tailored, person-centred counselling that truly makes a difference, helping to reduce the negative effects of gambling and promoting healthier choices.



At Uniting, our GambleAware program takes a comprehensive and personalised approach, offering support to those impacted by gambling and those at risk. Your role will involve:



Evidence-Based Counselling: Provide in-person, and digital counselling to meet diverse needs.



Community Engagement: Lead psycho-educational groups and represent GambleAware at local community events.



Outreach Support: Break down barriers to service access with proactive outreach efforts.







About you in the role



Diploma in Counselling (minimum requirement)
Membership in a professional association (APS, PACFA, etc.)
Experience in face-to-face and online counselling platforms
Training in Addiction or Gambling Counselling (desirable)
A broad range of therapeutic skills for working with individuals, couples, and families
Community Education Experience
Strong computer literacy
