Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Design Engineer at Cambrian Bioworks in Bengaluru. The Design Engineer will be responsible for tasks such as design engineering, mechanical engineering, computer-aided design (CAD), electrical engineering, and product design on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities:
• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for medical devices
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software
• Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulations to validate designs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and industrial designers
• Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, CE marking)
• Develop prototypes and conduct testing to verify design performance
• Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and reliability
• Troubleshoot issues in existing products and implement improvements
• Document design processes, test results, and technical specifications
• Stay current with advancements in medical device technology and manufacturing processes

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's preferred

• 3+ years experience in medical device design or related field

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo)

• Knowledge of GD&T, FEA, and DFM principles

• Familiarity with FDA regulations and ISO 13485 standards

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

• Experience with rapid prototyping technologies a plus
