Job Description

We are working on an exciting opportunity to join a PE-backed company as a small business Controller. This role will allow you to work hands-on within a small, dynamic organization and directly with the CEO.

As the Controller, you will lead the month-end close process, implement new accounting software, manage the revenue recognition/POC process, and oversee the overall financial stability of the company. This is a chance to join at the ground floor of growth and make a significant impact.

Essential Duties & Functions
• Lead the month-end closing process.
• Ensure all financial statements comply with GAAP.
• Coordinate audits and annual tax work.
• Maintain effective internal financial controls and transaction documentation.
• Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and analysis for executive leadership.
• Provide detailed revenue, cost, and profit analysis and projections.
• Develop tools and systems for financial and operational analysis with actionable recommendations.
• Manage overall liquidity, including accounts receivable, payables, and cash availability.
• Maintain appropriate banking relationships.
• Oversee long-term budget planning and cost management aligned with the strategic plan.
• Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and operational plans.
• Provide proactive ideas, solutions, and advice to the CEO
• Participate in strategic planning as a key member of senior management.
• Facilitate collaboration among senior management to ensure alignment with company strategy.
• Partner with the CEO on operational and strategic issues, offering recommendations.

Qualifications
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree; CPA preferred, with 7 to 10 years of related accounting experience
• Experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) Accounting for Long-term Contracts. Experience in manufacturing or construction companies, highly preferred.
• Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and Online, highly preferred
• Strong manufacturing and job costing experience.
• Experience in cash management.
• Expertise in standard costs and variance analysis.
• Expertise in implementing and administering IT systems.
