Staff Accountant

Job description
We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in TROY, Michigan. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including maintaining the general ledger, closing the books monthly, and reconciling balance sheet accounts. This role will also involve posting journal entries and creating financial reports.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain the general ledger with accuracy and integrity
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Handle the month-end close process in a timely and efficient manner
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries
• Generate financial reports for management review
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations
• Collaborate with other team members to improve accounting processes
• Utilize your skills to improve and streamline accounting procedures
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a related role
• Proficiency in General Ledger management is essential
• Experience with Month End Close procedures is required
• Must have skills in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
• Proficiency in preparing and posting Monthly Journal Entries is necessary
• Experience in Post Journal Entries is a prerequisite
• Must have a strong understanding and experience in Financial Reporting
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are required
• Must have a strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is advantageous
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is necessary
• Must have strong ethical standards and integrity in professional conduct
• Professional certification such as CPA is a plus
