Description

The Store Accountant is responsible for managing and correcting store exceptions that hinder the submission of daily store reports. This role involves daily monitoring of cash, lottery, and inventory discrepancies. The employee must communicate effectively with store personnel, operations, and loss prevention teams in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review and correct store paperwork to ensure errors are corrected and forms are updated
• Support store managers, loss prevention and operations with timely information
• Review cash discrepancies on a daily basis
• Research inventory discrepancies using exception reporting
• Reconcile Georgia and South Carolina lottery
• Reconcile selected trade vendors
• Reconcile general ledger accounts pertaining to inventory and transfers
• Ensure that inventory is reconciled prior to month end close
• Assist in testing of new forms and PDI upgrade

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS
• An accounting degree is preferred, but equivalent experience, or a combination of education and experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
