We are in search of a meticulous and experienced Staff Accountant/Project Accountant to join our team in Tucson, Arizona. The selected candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks such as managing company finances, preparing monthly financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting procedures, and managing company books. Responsibilities:• Manage daily company finances with accounting systems.• Communicate regularly with staff on various job-related topics and issues.Job Costing, Work in Progress calculations• Participate in the formation and implementation of company financial plans.• Prepare all monthly financial reports.• Collaborate with external accounting/financial firms on monthly close-out procedures.• Provide reporting and budgeting as required by Senior Management.• Develop and implement written accounting procedures for the operations staff and ensure compliance.• Work closely with Project Managers on each of their budgets• Analyze monthly financial statements and effectively convey analysis to staff as requested.• Assist in preparing year-end books for audit.• Ensure operational compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.• Manage employee credit card charges and reconcile credit card accounts.• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts as assigned.• Respond to inquiries from staff regarding budgets, deposits, disbursement, and grant reporting requests.• Assist in reconciling all balance sheet and income statement accounts on a periodic basis as indicated by the monthly closing schedule.
