Duties of the Cost Accountant
• Manage inventory costing and product cost of sales
• Run costing and inventory reports from GL systems and other sources
• Reconcile subledger systems to GL and record journal entries as appropriate
• Analyze inventory, cost of sales and inventory variance GL accounts for accuracy and reasonableness
• Reconcile vendor rebate accruals, freight costs and various other operational accounts
• Analyze significant product cost changes and revisions
• Assist in the budgeting process
• Provide financial analysis and insights into critical value drivers of the business
• Work closely with Controller and key stakeholders (primarily Operations and Supply Chain) to optimize internal controls, accounting processes, automation and reporting
• Assist the Controller in analyzing operational KPI’s across the organization
• Analyze and explore opportunities to reduce cost and drive efficiencies
• Additional responsibilities as defined by management

Qualifications For The Cost Accountant
• Minimum 3 years experience in accounting or finance
• Analytical thinker who enjoys working with operations
• Experience with advanced ERP accounting software, larger ERP system experience highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills, strong Excel skills and an attention to detail required.
