Position| IP Attorney

This person would be working as a part of the IP Legal team in Wipro. Responsibilities include coordinating with inventors to understand the invention, performing patentability searches, drafting patent applications, and working with law firms to draft and review patent applications. The candidate must be well-versed with patent law across jurisdictions such as India, Europe, and the US, and able to respond to Office actions and rejections from patent offices.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Lead patent analytics projects.
• Perform Freedom to Operate searches, Evidence of Use searches, and prepare Evidence of Use charts and Invalidity searches.
• Undertake IP training across different business verticals of Wipro.
• Advise business stakeholders on different IP matters or issues related to patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets.
• Review IP contracts such as patent licensing agreements, product licensing agreements, IP clauses in MSA, SOW, and other IP agreements.

Qualifications:
• Masters/Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunications, or other related disciplines.
• Masters/Bachelor’s in Law is preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in the field of Intellectual Property, with in-house experience and IP Attorney experience preferred.
• Registered patent agent in India.
• In-depth knowledge of patent prosecution, patent drafting, and patent analytics.
• Familiarity with new and emerging technologies in software and telecommunications, such as Gen AI, IoT, and blockchain.
• Experience in reviewing IP contracts is preferred.
