Junior Backend Engineer

As a backend engineer at Edgebricks, you will have the opportunity to design and develop a web backend to automate the management, monitoring, and consumption of on-premises infrastructure. You will be able to design easy-to-consume and scalable REST APIs. You will work closely with other developers and Product Management to implement those APIs in a scalable and fault-tolerant manner. You will be working to democratize cloud infrastructure and make it accessible to organizations that may not be able to afford it otherwise. There will be times when you are expected to work independently to meet tight deadlines following design guidelines.

Edgebrick's backend is deployed on a cloud infrastructure like AWS using the latest technologies like docker and Kubernetes. The backend is the core component of our

innovation whose goal is to simplify the consumption of infrastructure and your contributions will directly impact the ease of use for customers.

Responsibilities

1. Design and implement a REST API for the frontend team

2. Ability to write unit tests for code that you build

3. Collaborate with a small talented team of engineers

4. Work with the UI team to provide them with APIs using tools like Postman, curl,

swagger

5. Leverage NoSQL data stores like Cassandra, Redis, kairos, etc to store inventory, stats, and events data

6. Add support for monitoring and managing infrastructure at scale

Requirements

● Hands on experience with building a web backend using python frameworks

like flask and fast API.

● 2+ years working with web backend development

● Knowledge of designing and building REST APIs

● Experience with languages like Python and Golang

● Experience in building a scalable and resilient backend

● Strong analytical and debugging skills

● BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred

● Experience with deployment technologies like docker, VMs, and cloud is a plus

● Good understanding of database schemas and using both relational (SQL) and NoSQL-based datastores
