Master Technician

Responsibilities:
• Maintain company directed productivity, training development plan, and comeback performance levels;
• Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician);
• Maintain an organized and neat shop;
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur;
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order;
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended;
• Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician;
• Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned;
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts;
• Keep shop area neat and clean;
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events;
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair;
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins;
• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards;
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.

Requirements:
• 4-5 years of related experience in the automotive service environment;
• Strong verbal communication skills;
• Valid driver’s license;
• Ability to work Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays;
• Team player with a positive attitude;
• Ability to work alone, self motivate and manage one’s own time;
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form;
• Physical ability to use computer hardware/software;
• Maintain stall in an orderly and clean manner;
• Ensures that customer’s cars are kept clean;
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance;
• Fast learner;
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information;
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Preferred VW Group, & Audi experience.
