DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF STAFF NURSE

Staff Nurse is a First Level Professional Nurse who provides direct patient care to one patient or group of patients assigned to her/him during duty Shift and assists in management of wards. She/he is directly responsible to Senior Staff-Nurse of ward in-charge Nurse/Nursing Superintendent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF STAFF-NURSE

1) To ensure cleaning & dusting.

2) Medication administration & collection.

3) Patient Care:

a. Dress changing.

b. Oral care.

c. Back care.

d. Bowl & Ladder care.

4) Monitoring patient vitals & urine output or dry the drain output.

5) Feeding & monitoring of feeding (Supplementation and nutritional therapy)

6) Staff Education.

7) Accompanying infection during rounds.

8) Implementing infection control practices.
