Backend Software Engineer|PL|SQL

Your Team

We are looking to hire a Senior Backend Software Engineer who has technical experience, to work on Banking implementation projects in the area of Wealth Management. You will work together with various other teams as the Customization teams as well as the product development teams in Zurich, Edinburgh and Manila. The whole group is responsible for developing and maintaining our Avaloq solutions.

You are responsible for the implementation of the core technical components and solving technical challenges within the Wealth Management application in Investment Advisory team. The Investment Advisory team is responsible for innovative advisory applications addressing the upcoming requirements of a changing banking market. We are looking for a highly motivated software engineer with strong conceptual skills.

Your mission
• Develop features or feature extensions related to the Avaloq Wealth Management Application in PL/SQL and/or Avaloq Script, parametrize functionalities in the Avaloq Banking System
• Support business analysts in writing requirements specification and propose solutions
• Define and document technical solution designs for new features or feature adaptions
• Provide effort estimations for design and implementation work
• Implementation of new and adapted features in the Avaloq Banking System, according to the Avaloq coding style
• Do feature testing and bug fixing
• Write documentation of new feature or adaption

Qualifications

What you need
• University degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 years of relevant experience
• In-depth knowledge and experience with PL/SQL programming, Oracle, SQL
• Problem-solving attitude
• Client-orientation and strong communication skills (proficiency in English)
• Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
• Structured and autonomous approach to work
• Eager to learn and take on new challenges

You will get extra points for the following (nice-to-have)
• Avaloq certified professional
• Several years of experience in development of the Avaloq Banking System (ACP)
• Banking business background is a plus
