Job Description

WHAT IS THE JOB? The primary goal of the AR and Collection Accountant is to ensure ThoughtSpot receives payment for the software, support, and services provided to our customers. At surface level, this role may look like timely and accurate invoicing, followed by persistent collection efforts. The reality is you will support the company’s P&L efficiency by securing revenue and minimising bad debt. You will also play a key role in maximizing operating cashflow by maintaining key data drivers like customer account status and collection activities. Our preferred candidate has a one team mindset, comfortable working with other accounting teams, Finance, and Sales as needed towards our common goals. WHAT YOU'LL DO? • Review billing schedules to maintain punctual and accurate customer invoicing for submission via email and billing portals. • Coordinate collection activities, including calls and emails to customers, and internal escalations as required for problem accounts • Investigate and resolve customer payment discrepancies. • Maintain data drivers like invoice status and daily collections activity to support cash planning. • Complete Vendor Onboarding processes as needed. WHAT YOU BRING? • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles. • Proven corporate accounting experience, preferably in-house AR or Collections. • A drive to execute ThoughtSpot’s billings and collections protocol with precision and punctuality for a high volume of transactions. • Experience with NetSuite preferred. • Familiarity with Coupa, Ariba, and similar supplier portals is a plus. • Proficiency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills. • Curiosity and confidence in new learning experiences. • A passion for data, process improvement, and leveraging technology, • Perseverance.
