Requirements 6 to 10 years of experience Qualification B.E/B. Tech in Computers or any relevant Skill Set
• Microsoft Certified in MSSQL
• ITIL certification preferred
• Experience in SSRS, SSIS, TSF, CMS(Central Management Server)
• Monitoring tools like - SolarWinds, Idera, Quest Foglight, RedGate, SCOM, WMI, DMV, Query Store
• Performance tuning experience
• Working experience of Installation, Configuration, Patching, Security upgrades
• Diagnostic Analysis Optimization of Query and Stored Procedures
• Performance Tuning and query optimization
• Cloud Computing DBaaS, SaaS, IaaS and PaaS
• Disaster Recovery Planning
• ETL Experience
Job Description
• Install/Configure/Maintain SQL standalone instances.
• Install/Configure/Performance Tune/Scale multi node SQL Clusters and Availability Groups.
• Uses industry standards and best practices to govern all aspects work performed
• Monitoring and Alerting of SQL instances using WMI, DMV, Query Store and third party monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Idera, Quest Foglight, RedGate, ).
• Performing SQL upgrades, security updates and Cumulative Updates within release cycles to maintain supportability of the platform.
• 24x7 weekly On Call Rotation.
• Ability to work with application owners and vendors to perform installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Will report directly to a Team lead who will be providing operation direction and guidance on priorities.
• Follow all Owens Minor change control procedures and be present in weekly CAB to support any related changes submitted.
• Responsible for working assigned tasks or tickets using Service Now Ticketing system in accordance with defines SLA s.
• Experience with automated build and deployment of SQL using PowerShell or scripted solutions.
• Working knowledge and support of 2012, 2014, 2017 and 2026 as well as Azure DB Services.
• Excellent written and Verbal communication skills.
• Experience supporting TSF, SSRS, SSIS, Central Management Server.
• Experience with ETL, Maintenance Pans and Stored Procedures.
• Ability to provide escalation of critical issues impacting operations in a timely manner and provide database support to upstream and downstream teams.
• Experience with Disaster recovery planning and testing methodologies.
• Any additional duties that may arise from the administration and support or SQL instances deployed in the cloud or on premise data centers
