Business Finance Manager

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Business and Finance Manager with 8+ years of experience to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and develop a financial and accounting support function within a collaborative, professional services environment. Experience in a design firm is highly preferred.

In this role, you will work closely with Accounting, HR, Senior Leadership, and Project Managers to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee accounting, administrative, and HR staff
• Coordinate team schedules, training, and workflow management
• Ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations
• Implement processes and procedures to enhance profitability
• Manage and respond to insurance audits
• Partner with HR on required filings and regulatory requirements
• Lead annual corporate insurance reviews and renewals
• Collaborate with accounting on monthly financial close processes
• Support quarterly break-even analysis and financial reporting
• Assist with annual audits and financial reviews

Required Qualifications
• Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
• Solid financial acumen and accounting knowledge
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required); CPA preferred
• Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience
• Background in a professional services environment
• Experience in a mid-sized organization
• Hands-on involvement in monthly financial and operational close processes
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting data and reporting
• Experience with cloud-based accounting systems (Deltek Vision is a plus)
• Ability to think strategically and drive process improvements
